Katie & Mac: The Destination Wedding

Hello everyone!

I had the immense pleasure of consulting for Katie and Mac and their January wedding in the Bahamas. We helped to choose the details, to design the tablescapes, put together welcome bags for their guests, and even provided sketches for their Bahamian vendors to ensure that Katie and Mac's vision was interpreted flawlessly!

Here are some of the amazing images captured by Carper Creative Photography of their beautiful destination wedding.

Katie & Mac are Married!

Hey everyone!

Meet Katie & Mac...
We were so blessed to consult for Katie & Mac for their wedding on a beautiful, remote island in the Bahamas. They said their vows in front of 60 of their closest family and friends on Saturday in a beautiful church in Hopetown, Bahamas on Abaco Island. Amy with Carper Creative Photography was on hand to document every moment and detail of their wedding and we can't wait to share it all with you! Until then, here are a few of Katie's gorgeous bridal portraits for you...
Thank you to Carper Creative Photography for the beautiful images. We can't wait to see more from their gorgeous Bahamian wedding!

Ahhhh....Italy...

There's a special place in my heart for anything from Italy and these incredible engagement photos from Rome have just caused my travel bug to flair up again!
The feeling I get from these photos is like butterflies! I can imagine the street musicians playing, the buzz of different languages in the piazzas, the hundreds of outdoor cafes. It's unlike any other place in the world...

Amazing Ansel Adams Inspired Engagement Shoot!

With a groom who is a photographer, the sky is the limit. And this groom had a specific inspiration in mind for his engagement photos: Ansel Adams. They flew their photographer to Yosemite National Park and had an engagement session unlike any I've ever seen before. These engagement photos literally left me breathless...
and my favorite of the bunch...
This photo could be artwork on anyone's wall. I am completely in love with this shoot! Amazing...

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Williams!

Lindsey & Bryan were married last month on the beach in Cancun, Mexico in front of their closest family and friends.
They spent their money wisely & invested in Dale and Meredith Benfield of Benfield photography to document their wedding day.
Lindsey's Trash the Dress session was done in an underwater cave! And the results are incredible:

Lindsey handled the wedding entirely on her own. Finishing Touch was brought in to coordinate the reception back home in Arkansas. The reception will be the featured in the next blog post.

Perfect Details for a Destination or Travel Themed Wedding

I love travel themed details for any wedding but especially for a destination event! Using Post Cards as your save the dates or giving luggage tags as favors adds to the unique atmosphere of the wedding. Here are a few great options:
top, left: Wanderlust Necklace from Crumpet Cake, $15.00
top, right: Travel Push Pins from Tickle Button, $6.75 for 9 pins
-I love these for use throughout your wedding decor (centerpiece, bouquets, escort cards, etc.)
2nd row, right: Shampoo Bar with Tin Case from Shop Red Leaf, $11.00
-great item in a welcome bag
3rd row, left: Vintage Train Case from Get Ready Set Go, $64.95
-for a higher budget event, use these as your welcome baskets
3rd row, right: Custom Map Tray from Carolina Cottage, $25.00
-use these as your centerpiece containers or to hold escort cards, etc.
4th row, left: Vintage Street Map Sterling Silver Cuff Links from DLK Designs, $48.00
-wonderful groomsmen gifts
4th row, right: Bon Voyage Card from Ear Mark, $4.00
-use these as your save the dates or thank you notes.
5th row, left: Vanity Cabinet from Vanity Case, $300.00
-not sure how this could be used, but it is so adorable I had to include it!
5th row, right: The Getaway Bag from Beesnetta, $172.00
-a great gift for your bridesmaids or for yourself to take on the honeymoon.

I love destination weddings, but if you cannot bear to miss out on that big, formal wedding you can give it a travel theme in a chic way. Bon Voyage!
