Welcome 2 new couples!

It's been a busy few weeks for Finishing Touch, as evident by the lack of blog posts! We've been consulting with new brides, dealing with wedding crunch time for 2 big weddings coming up, and booking new weddings.
I want to send out a big congratulations to 2 new Finishing Touch couples, who've just booked their weddings with us:

Ashley & Chad are getting married at the Stone Chapel at Matt Lane Farm in Fayetteville, AR at the end of April and Ashley has brought us on board to help coordinate the last few details of the day. We'll be there to make sure that everything runs smoothly and that they have the wedding of their dreams worry-free!

Sarah & Justin are getting married at the Chapel at Garvan Gardens in Hot Springs, AR on Labor Day weekend. Sarah will plan the wedding on her own and we will simply step in during the final days leading up to their wedding to coordinate the details.

We are so excited to be working with all of you and cannot wait for your big days! Congratulations again. We wish you all the happiness in the world for your future marriages.

Baby's Breath Decor: It's back!

And in a great way! I was never a fan of baby's breath, because it reminded me of ballet recitals as a kid and bouquets from the store with 3 roses, lots of greenery, and sprigs of baby's breath. Well, it's back in a whole new way...and I absolutely love it!

Florists are creating centerpieces and other wedding decor using large clouds of baby's breath that gives your wedding decor the feeling of lace. Here are just a few fabulous options...

And here are a few more that we're using as inspiration for a wedding in August:

These beautiful baby's breath clouds are the perfect compliment to a vintage inspired wedding because of the way they mimic lace and use a very traditional flower in a very modern way. Just beautiful!

Michelle & George are Married!

Michelle & George Khamis were married Saturday in an amazing Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Little Rock. Their reception was full of incredible Assyrian traditions passed down throughout the generations of George's family.

Michelle was a very hands on bride. She planned her wedding from beginning to end and we simply coordinated the day for her and created centerpieces and floral designs to her specifications.

After the ceremony, guests proceeded to the banquet hall foyer where they enjoyed a lavish cocktail hour with a full bar and delicious hors d'oeurves. Then the ballroom doors were opened and guests found their seats as the bridal party prepared for the elaborate Assyrian entrance. A formal, plated dinner was served by Catering Creations and guests enjoyed a full bar throughout the evening. Belly Dancing entertained the guests during dinner as the bride's sister performed. Joe Miller's Karaoke Caravan provided the entertainment for the remainder of the evening, playing a variety of music including several traditional Assyrian songs to which guests packed the dance floor.

Here are just a few photos that I took throughout the night. Please forgive my amateur photography! Professional photos to come...

The beautiful Assyrian processional into the reception. Traditional Assyrian music plays as the wedding party and family shake beaded scarves. They all dance around the bride and groom as they make their way to the head table.

Ahhhh....Italy...

There's a special place in my heart for anything from Italy and these incredible engagement photos from Rome have just caused my travel bug to flair up again!
The feeling I get from these photos is like butterflies! I can imagine the street musicians playing, the buzz of different languages in the piazzas, the hundreds of outdoor cafes. It's unlike any other place in the world...
