Styled Shoot: Inspired by Art

Hi guys!

This Fall has been busy, but we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For months I have been dreaming about an opulent, art inspired photo shoot. I was inspired by Baroque & Rococo era still life paintings from Europe in which the tables are overflowing with food, flowers, and fabric.
Jan Davisz de Heem, Untitled
Willem Van Aelst, Bloementuil
I wanted to recreate the moody extravagance and excess in these works of art. To begin, I knew I wanted to use a wooden table layered with fabric and topped with flowers and fruit. I also knew I wanted to use dark {black and gray} candlesticks to emphasize the darker tones.

With Hudson Photography behind the camera, Jules Design creating our floral pieces, and Eventures providing the rentals, we created magic.

Next, the idea of the floral bustle was born...
Sketch by Kimberly Cheshier.
The floral bustle was impractical and over the top, which was perfectly in keeping with the extravagance and wastefulness of the Rococo time period in Europe.
Hair by B.Lush Salon at Pinnacle.

The gown from She Said Yes could not have been more perfect. The lace top with the full silk skirt was dramatic, feminine, and beyond beautiful!

And a big thank you to The Ravington for letting us shoot at your breathtaking venue!

We had a blast creating this design. Thanks to all of the vendors who made it possible. We love you all!

Victorian Era Bubble Locket from Mae's Emporium in Fayetteville. Put anything sentimental in the locket to carry with you on your wedding day {or any day} - a piece of your mother's wedding gown or a piece of a note from your grandmother would be sweet ways to use this piece on your wedding day.
