Styled Shoot: Inspired by Art

Hi guys!

This Fall has been busy, but we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For months I have been dreaming about an opulent, art inspired photo shoot. I was inspired by Baroque & Rococo era still life paintings from Europe in which the tables are overflowing with food, flowers, and fabric.

Willem Van Aelst, Bloementuil
I wanted to recreate the moody extravagance and excess in these works of art. To begin, I knew I wanted to use a wooden table layered with fabric and topped with flowers and fruit. I also knew I wanted to use dark {black and gray} candlesticks to emphasize the darker tones.

With Hudson Photography behind the camera, Jules Design creating our floral pieces, and Eventures providing the rentals, we created magic.

Next, the idea of the floral bustle was born...
Sketch by Kimberly Cheshier.
The floral bustle was impractical and over the top, which was perfectly in keeping with the extravagance and wastefulness of the Rococo time period in Europe.
Hair by B.Lush Salon at Pinnacle.

The gown from She Said Yes could not have been more perfect. The lace top with the full silk skirt was dramatic, feminine, and beyond beautiful!
Makeup by Kaylin Townsend

And a big thank you to The Ravington for letting us shoot at your breathtaking venue!

We had a blast creating this design. Thanks to all of the vendors who made it possible. We love you all!

Whitney & Eric: Horton Farms Night Time Wedding

Hi everyone!

This blog has been lacking lately, but school is back in session for my babies and I'm determined to keep up it fresh and updated! Kicking off my new better blogging habits is a wonderful wedding from last fall. Whitney and Eric were married in October at Horton Farms in an absolutely beautiful night time wedding. This trend is one of my favorites! Guests are treated to a cocktail hour as soon as they arrive and once the sun goes down and darkness sets in, guests find their seats and the wedding takes place by candlelight. It is magical and beautiful! Enjoy the photos by Carper Creative Photography.

THIS is why you do a night time ceremony. So romantic.

I adore these little love seats surrounding the dance floor.

Thank you Whitney and Eric for letting us be a part of your day! It was spectacular!
