NWA Bridal Fair Update

This weekend's Bridal Fair in Rogers was an absolute success. I met some wonderful brides and, believe it or not, even a few grooms! We had a great time getting to know you all. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth. I hope to work with several of you very soon. Here are a few photos of Finishing Touch's booth.

An overview of our booth. We set up 2 different styles of tables to give brides an idea of a very romantic wedding and a very modern one.

Above is the finished Peacock Inspiration Board that I posted earlier in the month. It has received lots of oohs and ahhs. Below is a black and white bouquet created by Finishing Touch for the fair that consisted of only hydrangeas and some very modern & inexpensive feathery mums.

These are the other floral arrangements created by Finishing Touch for the bridal fair. Top and middle left: a romantic inspired centerpiece consisting of hydrangeas, wild roses, snap dragons, and various greenery in a silver footed bowl. This arrangement is perfect for a garden wedding. Top right: Large arrangement consisting of hydrangeas, yellow mums, yellow lilies, irises, snapdragons, and various greenery - perfect for a buffet or gift table arrangement. Lower left: A white pommander or "kissing ball" made entirely of white feathery mums. Middle right & Lower right: My obsession of the moment! A sleek centerpiece consisting of white roses, one yellow mum, an artichoke, and eucyliptus leaves in a square metal tray. It is modern and Asian inspired and absolutely perfect for a modern bride wanting to surprise her guests with something new. I have been dying to create this arrangement and the bridal fair was the perfect opportunity!

Thanks again to everyone we met at the fair!

Anxiously Awaiting Marchesa's Bridal Collection...

I could plan an entire wedding around one of Marchesa's gowns! I have been desperately waiting for their Bridal Collection to launch and am unfortunately still waiting. But, thanks to the Spring 2009 Ready to Wear Collection, here's a little hint of what we can expect. The Bridal Collection is bound to be unbelievable!
Keep checking back - more of Marchesa's Bridal Collection to come.

Modern Cake Silhouette

By now we've all seen the "mad hatter" cakes & the use of cupcakes as a wedding cake. The most modern cake silhouette is this more sleek shape. No stair step needed with these. They're simple, modern, and gorgeous!
Add polka dots to really emphasize the modern shape.

These polka dots are arranged in a grid like fashion, again emphasizing the modern shape.

Add flowers to soften the style of the cake.

Why should the Bride have all the fun?

I love a Unique Boutonnière! Aren't these adorable? Made by Lalalaurie, they come in a variety of colors and prices. Starting at $15.00 each, everyone can afford details that make a statement! See the full collection of Boutonnières, Corsages, & even Bouquets at: www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5079277&order=&section_id=&page=1

Bringing your event together...

This is the perfect way to pull together any event. Choose your blooms & create large arrangements consisting of all of the chosen flowers either for the Altar arrangements, buffet, or for your bouquet. For your centerpieces or bridesmaids bouquets, break up the larger arrangement separating each type of bloom into its own vase. You'll create a cohesive look for your beautiful day!

Thanks for this inspiration from In Style.

Yummy Dessert Bars (Part Deux)

Anyone who knows me, knows that I get obsessed with new, creative ideas. This is my current obsession! I cannot get enough of these amazingly beautiful, whimsical dessert tables by Amy Atlas Events.

Yes, those are lollipops on the trees in the background. How adorable!!

This black serve ware really makes the delicious desserts and beautiful flowers pop! And the gorgeous print is the perfect backdrop for this yummy addition to any wedding or event.

I'm dying to create one of these! Thanks to Rachel, I will get to design a beautiful black and white dessert table (with touches of blue) for her modern chic wedding in May. I cannot wait!

Short & Sweet

Take a cue from Audrey Hepburn in "Funny Face." A short, sweet (or short, sexy) dress could be the perfect choice for a garden wedding, a second wedding, or for a bride who has never pictured herself in a huge ball gown. Here are just a few from the current Priscilla of Boston & Melissa Sweet collection:

There's something for every style - traditional, modern, casual, & elegant - and for every budget!

Dessert Bars

The Candy Buffet has been taken to the next level. These Dessert Bars are a chic alternative to the traditional groom's cake, but are appropriate for any event. They can be extremely elegant and formal or they can be playful and cute. You can create a beautifully decorative space for your wedding or event that ties in perfectly with the rest of your decor/theme. Most caterers can create unique desserts. Just ask!

Kelli & Jeremy were married in a beautiful beachside ceremony last month. Despite stormy weather the night before, it cleared up and they had an absolutely perfect day! Here are some of my favorite photos from their chic beach wedding.

Peacock Inspiration Board

What a beautiful, sophisticated theme! The key is to use restraint - don't go over the top: use the saturated peacock colors and gold or bronze accents, tone it all down with white flowers and you have a gorgeous wedding.
Top it all off with a peacock inspired gown - structured ruffles and a hint of blue. Perfection!

Stop by the NWA Bridal Fair September 28th to see the finished inspiration board and to enter to win a free "Finishing Touch" package.

Create a Wedding Website

Wedding webpages are becoming more and more popular as a way of giving your guests important information regarding your big day. You include hotels for out of town guests, your registries, cute stories about how you got engaged, information about the bridal party and so on and so on. Thanks to Brooke, I've just seen this site: wedshare.com. This page is the perfect place to create your own personal wedding website. With wedshare you can personalize your page and layout, upload photos of all of your wedding party, add personal stories and information along with all of the features found on other sites. You can even design your invitations and other wedding stationary all in one place. I highly recommend a wedding webpage for everyone! Your guests will RSVP quicker and you'll be able to share important information that would take days of phonecalls. Go to wedshare.com and create yours today!
